LA EVOLUCÓN DEL UNIVERSO:

What is the Universe?
The word "Universe" refers to all that that exists physically. In this respect, there are included all the forms of the matter and the energy, the physical laws that govern them, and the totality of the space and of the timeNevertheless, the term universe can be used in lightly different contextual senses, to refer to concepts as the cosmos, the world or the nature.
The exterior space or empty space, also simply called space, refers to the relatively empty regions of the universe out of the atmospheres of the heavenly bodies.
The exterior space is not completely empty of matter (it is to say, is not a perfect emptiness) but it contains a low density of particles, predominantly gas hydrogen, as well as electromagnetic radiation. Though it is supposed that the exterior space occupies practically the whole volume of the universe and for a long time it was considered to be practically empty, or replete with a substance called ether, now it is known that it contains most of the matter of the universe.
Inside the exterior space we can distinguish the intergalactic space and the interstellar space

Inside the exterior space we can distinguish the intergalactic space and the interstellar space
Intergalactic SpaceIt is the physical space between galaxies. Generally without powder and rubbles, the intergalactic space is closely together of the total emptiness.
The density of the universe clearly is not uniform; it changes from a relatively high density in galaxies. In rich heaps of galaxies how that of Virgo, the intergalactic space is occupied by a very rarefied gas and to high temperatures, detectable thanks to his emission of X-rays. | Interstellar SpaceThe interstellar space is the region that happens between the stars and must not get confused with the most empty intergalactic, great space. In general, the interstellar space is in the habit of being populated of big quantities of cosmic dust, though the regional density can be very variable, depending on the activity of the zone.
